CONFERENCE PLANS UNDERWAY

The Conference Committee has been busy making arrangements for this year’s VRA Conference and Awards Program. Locating and selecting exhibitors, mailing 750 Save the Date post cards, and coordinating the 2004 awards are just a few of the tasks they are working on. more

Register Early and Save Money

Registration rates increase $50 after October 1, so register early! The one-day and student registrations do not include tickets to the Wednesday night reception. This may be purchased separately at $25 each.

Member registration:       $125  includes admission to Wednesday reception

Nonmember registration: $150  includes admission to Wednesday reception

One-day registration       $100

Student registration        $100  Full-time students only


TARGETING YOUR AUDIENCE

One thousand recycling professionals gathered in San Francisco in late August for the National Recycling Coalition’s 23rd annual Congress and Exposition.

To kick-off the Congress, leading advertising executive Candy Cox of DDB Bass & Howes evaluated the success of recycling as a brand and offered recommendations to increase public participation in recycling. This year’s session was a follow-up to her presentation at the 2003 Congress, which received a standing ovation. more


AMERICA RECYCLES DAY GETS A NEW LOOK

During the Congress, the new look for America Recycles Day was unveiled, including a name change from America Recycles Day to America Recycles 2004.  The new name emphasizes the value of recycling throughout the year, although November 15 will continue to be the culmination of all events, including the pledge contest. more

Election News

There will be  five open positions on the VRA Board come election time.

Please send nominations to Kelley Bartell, president@vrarecycles.org, by Friday, September 24.

You will receive a ballot in the mail in the beginning of October and you will have until October 27 to cast your vote. The new Board members will be introduced at the Annual Conference.
