Lodging Information
The 2011 VRA Conference will be held at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Room rates range from $139 - $259 per room. Please contact the Wyndham directly to coordinate lodging for the conference. Remember to ask for the “Virginia Recycling Association” rate when making reservations. You must book your room by April 14 to guarantee the room block rate. Hotel amenities include high-speed Internet access in all rooms, fitness center, indoor/outdoor pool and the Surf Club Ocean Grill.

New this year! Based on feedback from attendees, we have re-negotiated the room block to better suit your needs. There are two room rates available:
$139 West Wing double NEW! The double rooms are guaranteed to be in “the tower” and not in the poolside wing! These rooms have an ocean view and direct access to the conference area.
$159 Direct oceanfront NEW! The first 10 West Wing rooms reserved in our block can get a free upgrade to oceanfront for the same price!
State Rate NEW! There are a limited number of rooms available on Monday and Tuesday night at the state per diem rate for state and local government employees. Please email Erica Trout for details.

Membership Special
Save $25 off VRA membership when renewing or initiating a membership as a conference attendee. You will also save $50 on the conference registration rate.
To check you current membership status, please login to the VRA Web site if you are an existing member. This link will log you in and return you to this screen. If you have forgotten your Password, enter your Username to have your password e-mailed to you. Username is typically first initial and last name, i.e. jsmith. Once you return to this screen, use this link once you have successfully logged in to view your membership expiration date or contact vra@vrarecycles.org. Business Recycling Workshop - May 9
Free to conference attendees and open to the public. Through a grant project the VRA will host this workshop aimed at educating businesses how to recycle (retail, manufacturing, restau-rants, office buildings and industry). We will also discuss ways in which local recycling programs can encourage recycling in business as well as tools available to do so. RSVP via the Conference Registration process.
VRA Golf Tournament - May 9
Join industry colleagues in a friendly golf tournament at the Signature at West Neck golf course. Play is Captain’s Choice. Shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. May 9. The cost is $80 per player which includes cart, greens fee, practice range balls, dinner, and tax. You may pay for the tournament online, but you must still fill out your golf details on the registration form and send or FAX in to VRA.
Optional Dinners, Cultural Tours, Workshops
There is a separate paper registration form for these events, or you may or you may register and pay online when signing up for the conference, or you may add them online and pay after you have signed up for the conference:
- Dinner at Tautog's - Monday, May 9, 6:00 p.m. This optional dinner Monday night is a great way to start the conference experience at the beach. Meet friends and colleagues at this casual dining establishment featuring exceptional fish and seafood entrees' soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Tautog's is located in a 1920's beach cottage in Virginia Beach's resort strip area. RSVP required. We will travel as a group over to the restaurant where we have a reservation. You can order from the menu and pay with separate checks.
- Sailing Excursion on Monday, May 9. (space limited)
Snacks and soft drinks are included on this 2 hour sail on the Atlantic. Space is limited. $65
- Self-guided tour at the Virginia Aquarium and Lunch Monday, May 9. This self guided tour will allow you to explore the award-winning aquarium. Includes lunch, tour pass and transportation. $25
- Additional Cocktail Reception Tickets for Tuesday, May 10. Your conference registration includes the reception. If a friend/spouse who is not registered for the conference will be joining you at the reception additional tickets are $20.
Scholarship Deadline Extended
Due to funds still available in the scholarship budget this year, we are able to offer two more scholarships. Deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 3. Scholarships can cover the cost of registration to the conference and one night's lodging. Application
